PROJECTS - Renovations / Upfits

Friendly Avenue Baptist Church

The Heart of the Project
Beyond the walls, floors, ceilings, mechanical and electrical systems that make up the typical construction project lies the vision of the finished project. Sometimes projects are straightforward. Occasionally, though, the heart of a project can be overheard in conversations along the way. For Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, we heard the pastor’s vision in preliminary project discussions. The heart of the Sanctuary Renovation lay in the stained glass windows the pastor envisioned for the finished sanctuary. Each window was to include a theme and a scripture. The pastor even knew where each theme should be located in relation to the sanctuary and the progression of those themes throughout. Rick Murray arranged meetings with the pastor, the stained glass company and himself so the pastor could convey his vision. After several meetings, Rick was able to develop a plan. Using a detailed elevation drawing that showed theme icons and scripture as a guideline, R.P. Murray followed through on all the details and made sure that the pastor’s vision became a reality.
